The remembering begins,
out of this new silence I experience,
as the grey sky grew darker,
digging through myriads of fading memories deeper,
crouching broadly and determinedly across my soul,
as if putting roots in to the earth.
I never knew this simple gaze at the glistening star-studded valley,
could pulse the infinite shades of childhood alive for me.
Could this flickering tints be the dust of ancient pages?
Somewhere, beneath the blood,
the past beats in me to make a rhythm of survival for itself.
Then a sharp rain begins to sting down,
chill sifts in to the air as the rain drills through,
and brings the petrichor of reminicience back to life.
This moment of recall clenched through the inside of me,
exposes the world that vanished as a wealth of timeless serenity,
which is not locked away anymore,
to untangle what is past, or passing or yet to come…
